01 / UNDERSTANDING YOUR CARE
A clearer picture.
Pediatric urology and congenital reconstruction cover urinary conditions present from birth as well as problems identified during childhood. The child’s age, symptoms and development guide assessment.
Findings such as hydronephrosis, hypospadias or an undescended testis do not all follow the same care plan. A consultation helps parents understand whether monitoring or treatment is appropriate.
Bring antenatal scans, earlier reports and prescriptions when discussing your child’s care with Dr. Md Taquedis Noori. Confirm the child’s age, specialist availability and facilities before arranging a procedure.
Ask what can be monitored, what may need treatment and when to seek help sooner. Decisions should be based on an individual assessment of your child.
What to discuss with your doctor.
- Antenatal hydronephrosis (kidney swelling) detected on maternal pregnancy ultrasound
- Urinary opening located on the underside of the penis rather than at the tip (hypospadias)
- Testis not felt inside the scrotal sac in an infant boy (cryptorchidism / undescended testis)
- Recurrent unexplained childhood fevers, vomiting, or diagnosed pediatric UTIs
- Downward curvature of the penis during erection in young boys (chordee)
Care options explained.
Your doctor will discuss which options fit your assessment.
Pediatric Pyeloplasty (Dismembered)
Micro-surgical or laparoscopic reconstruction of narrowed kidney outlets in infants to relieve hydronephrosis and preserve renal parenchymal growth.
Hypospadias Repair (Single & Two-Stage)
Delicate reconstruction of the urethral opening to the tip of the glans with chordee correction, ensuring normal standing micturition and cosmetic anatomy.
Orchidopexy for Undescended Testis
Mobilization and surgical fixation of the testis into the scrotal sac, recommended between 6 and 18 months of age.
Deflux Injection & Ureteral Reimplantation for VUR
Correction of backward urine reflux from the bladder to the kidneys to prevent chronic pyelonephritis and renal scarring.
Before your consultation.
- Bring all antenatal (pregnancy) and postnatal ultrasound reports
- Carry MCU (Micturating Cystourethrogram) and nuclear kidney scans (DTPA/MAG3/DMSA) if done
- Bring immunization records and current pediatric growth charts
